The pointing or joints in between brick, stone, flint or other masonry material are the veins of the structure and should be treated with care and attention.

When replacing, repairing or restoring pointing, at Harbon Builders we are very conscious to match the existing mortar if possible or select the nearest alternative which will sympathise with the existing.

The process of mortar selection can be done through various tests ranging from onsite field tests to sending a sample off to be analysed under laboratory conditions. Generally an onsite test will suffice.
